Enhancing the flexibility to the design of selangkah system

On 16th December 2011, I already done my Presentation Proposal Final Project. My title is Enhancing the flexibility to the design of selangkah system. After presentation I have only 2 week to make my final proposal report. I have lot work to changes my proposal in term of title, problem statement, objective and research methodology. The title that suitable with my proposal in Formalizing the system design of Selangkah System. Below is my slide presentation on 16 December 2011.

Week 10: Research Methodology

Week 9 : Literature Review

Wednesday 2 November 2011

Week 8 : Objectives

There are several objectives for Sistem Semakan Syarat Selangkah ke UiTM:-
  1. To identify the functionality of Sistem Semakan Syarat Selangkah ke UiTM.
  2. To define the requirement from Bahagian Pengambilan Pelajar (BPP) UiTM.
  3. To enhance the current design to make more flexible.

Week 7 - Research Background & Problem Statement

After meet the my supervisor, now I can define the research background and problem statement from my working title "Enhancement of Sistem Selangkah ke UiTM" .

Research Backgroud

Currently Sistem Semakan Syarat Selangkah ke UiTM is developed in online and have been used by SPM candidate to check either they are eligible to apply for the program required by the SPM results.

Problem Statement

Therefore, current Sistem Semakan Syarat Selangkah ke UiTM don't have proper detail's documentation and the design of this system are not flexible with the policy and criteria for selection of students that always changes every year. So,this current system must do a enhancement of the design to improve the current system.

Week 7 - Get clearly with working title

On October 13, 2011, I and Nazrul met with our supervisor, Pn. Suriyati and Dr. Ariza to get an explanation of our year project. Finally, their explained the scope of which we will do the project. Topics to be I do is "Enhancement of Sistem Selangkah ke UiTM".

Bloom's Taxonomy

Benjamin Bloom created this taxonomy for categorizing level of abstraction of questions that commonly occur in educational settings. The taxonomy provides a useful structure in which to categorize test questions, since professors will characteristically ask questions within particular levels, and if you can determine the levels of questions that will appear on your exams, you will be able to study using appropriate strategies. The cognitive domain involves knowledge and the development of intellectual skills.  There are six major categories, which are listed in order below, starting from the simplest behavior to the most complex.

Competence

Skills Demonstrated

Knowledge
  • observation and recall of information
  • knowledge of dates, events, places
  • knowledge of major ideas
  • mastery of subject matter
  • Question Cues:
list, define, tell, describe, identify, show, label, collect, examine, tabulate, quote, name, who, when, where, etc.
Comprehension
  • understanding information
  • grasp meaning
  • translate knowledge into new context
  • interpret facts, compare, contrast
  • order, group, infer causes
  • predict consequences
  • Question Cues:
summarize, describe, interpret, contrast, predict, associate, distinguish, estimate, differentiate, discuss, extend
Application
  • use information
  • use methods, concepts, theories in new situations
  • solve problems using required skills or knowledge
  • Questions Cues:
apply, demonstrate, calculate, complete, illustrate, show, solve, examine, modify, relate, change, classify, experiment, discover
Analysis
  • seeing patterns
  • organization of parts
  • recognition of hidden meanings
  • identification of components
  • Question Cues:
analyze, separate, order, explain, connect, classify, arrange, divide, compare, select, explain, infer
Synthesis
  • use old ideas to create new ones
  • generalize from given facts
  • relate knowledge from several areas
  • predict, draw conclusions
  • Question Cues:
combine, integrate, modify, rearrange, substitute, plan, create, design, invent, what if?, compose, formulate, prepare, generalize, rewrite
Evaluation
  • compare and discriminate between ideas
  • assess value of theories, presentations
  • make choices based on reasoned argument
  • verify value of evidence
  • recognize subjectivity
  • Question Cues

Working Title

Salam,
Hye everyone...

This blog is created to be used as a reference for others who are interested in my final year project that will do for two semesters to finish my Bachelor of Science (Information Systems Engineering).

System Design is my choice to do my final year project. I will try to focus my project on the design of algorithms.
